A good friend’s mother died this morning.
A real estate deal we’re closing has gotten insanely complex.
Kids can get sick.
Clients who were cool for a long time can suddenly go cold or ghost you.
Flights you need to make can get cancelled.
The weather can go batshit haywire.
Ad accounts can get suddenly Zuck’s banhammer of doom.
And don’t even get me started on the pointless bureaucracy.
In the book Shoe Dog, Phil Knight had 24 hours to raise $1,000,000 or Nike would not exist.
Your goal is not to avoid curveballs and be perfect.
Your goal is to pick your ass back up, say thank you, and take another swing.
Try again with the new understanding that failure showed you.
Success is far more about persistence than anything else.
It’s how you bounce back from failures.
How long do we choose to sit in the feeling of the setback? Or do we start anew again?
The most successful people I know do not give up. Stubbornly so.
You don’t get in shape doing one push up. You don’t get healthy drinking a green juice once.
Whatever curveballs life has in store for you today…
…you’re stronger than them.
I believe in you. R Kelly even believes you can fly…
…(when he’s not peeing on you.)
Random thoughts in Mexico.
May the force be with you.
PS
No R Kelly’s were harmed during the making of this post.
